Welcome to my first blog post, coming to you from the dead of winter after a well-needed period of hibernation. Luckily for me, I live on the West Coast of Canada in wet and mild Vancouver. Although we don't REALLY have the right to complain about chilly and inconvenient winter weather, even for us fortunate Vancouverites, winter brings some serious SAD... the wind chills you to the bone, rain pours incessantly, waking up to a foot of snow is a real and unwanted possibility, and the lack of sunlight has got everyone popping vitamin D supplements and searching for the cheapest bright light therapy lamps on Amazon. I spent my winter vacation recovering from not one but two bouts of the flu, sequestered in my apartment lest I infect anyone and binge-watching Netflix, barely aware of the sun setting outside at the hour of 3:30 pm.
It seems fitting that my first outfit post reminds me very much of a bear emerging from hibernation, albeit a fabulous one that makes the conscious choice to wear sunglasses despite the low light of a cloudy mid-January afternoon. Not only does this sweater make me feel like a vicious and intimidating forest-dwelling animal, it is SO WARM I was able to comfortably forego a jacket today. Win and win.
