I've been on a minimalist kick as of late. Maybe it's the freedom of no longer needing to throw on a hat, scarf, and gloves on top of multiple layers of knits and coats before walking out the door, but right now my motto is the simpler the better when it comes to my wardrobe, and all my light coloured basics have been thrown into heavy rotation. Although the near constant rain signals that we Vancouverites have a bit of a wait until summer, the rain is soft, the wind is gentle, and the occasional warmth of the sun peeking through the clouds feeds my soul.
Now that I'm not regularly reaching for hand-knitted scarves and heavy beanies, I'm becoming reacquainted with my lighter, springier, and more minimal accessories. Nobody does affordable minimalism better than Oak + Fort, so it should come as no surprise that my favourite spring items for this year, all pictured above, are via their brand. My all time favourite item is the silk scarf because of its versatility; it can dress up a bag or a tote, be worn as a neckscarf, and fashioned into a headband or even a bralette, depending on your mood.
All in all, I'm happy my well-planned outfits will no longer need to be hidden under layers of warm winter jackets. Spring has officially sprung!
